According to a new economic impact study released by the American Meat Institute, the nation's meat and poultry industry contributes approximately $832 billion to the U.S. economy. This economic impact measures nearly 6% of total gross domestic product. Additionally, the industry provides 6.2 million jobs and $200 billion in wages and benefits.
